Chaps I need some advice on the 6128+, I have a cpc464 and I want a 6128 (even just the base unit will do). But I wouldn't mind getting a 6128+ just because it has all the whistles and bells with the additional hardware sprites/scrolling etc.

firstly a rough idea on prices, what would be an expected price to pay for one (and if it comes with the beige monitor)?

Secondly is the basic built in or is it on the burning rubber cartridge, if it's on the cartridge how easy is it to secure a copy. How easy is it to build a clone cartridge (literally just found out the one I'm after hasn't got the burning rubber cartridge).

Thirdly if the basic is on the burning rubber cartridge was this cartridge specific to the 6128+? I'm taking it wouldn't be included on the GX4000 version

any help would be greatly appreciated

First off you cant talk about prices as its classed as price driving and its against the rules.

From what i know of the 6128+ i am sure the burning rubber game is built in when you turn it on as you get an option for that or to use the basic.

ay up

the 6128+ is on ebay at the moment, I just want a rough guide as to value and if it's worth it thought this would be a good place to ask

if I'm wrong in asking then apologies, it's just there is a couple of hours left and I want to be pretty sure about making a last offer or letting it go

Someone can give you rough value by pm you about it and that only i can think of....

ok just had a readup and the locomotive basic came on cartridge, is it a complete disaster to buy one without the cartridge, has anyone made a clone? (is that even legal?)

hmmm as much as I want this I think I should let it go and resume my search for a cpc6128

6128+ are not expensive if you don't mind an AZERTY version (French) as they are not as rare in that region.

You need at least one cartridge to use the 6128+ as it has no OS ROM to boot from. They were bundled with a cartridge including the operating system, Locomotive BASIC, AMSDOS and the free game "Burnin' Rubber". These cartridges are dirt cheap and there are loads of them.

Use eBay (completed listings) and Amibay to research your prices.

well I've just gone upto £x and just been out bid, I only want a sodding 6128 so i can play R-Type, bit rich for my tastes

oops sorry for that, didn't think it was wrong, apologies I'd decided to stop at that point I wasn't trying to inflate the price just wanted to make sure that I was doing the right thing and got a bit carried away with trying to get it. Bit gutted i didn't get it but I couldn't justify going any further on it (wife and kids to consider)

lesson leaned, won't happen again but thanks for all the advice chaps
