thats a lot of bits in this one- one thing - the post office smashed the box up somewhat, I have 1 x bag of screws and an allen key, and then 7 more printed parts. is that all correct?

Wow, that got to you pretty fast!

There should be the following in the box.

2. Right keyboard bracket with installed heatset, 8mm M3 screw and M3 stainless steel washer
3. USB plate
4. Main board support bracket
5. Power plate/ power switch combo coverplate
6. Short Power Plate
7. Power Button
8. Baggie containing 2.5mm allen key and six 9mm washers

If you find anything damaged or missing, please let me know. Replacements will be sent if needed.

Stuff arrived today. That was quick. Fits all very snugly, that's good :) Ill try to make some more pics later today. I took transparent to light it up from the inside(need some more color leds going). Thanks for the quality product, really like it, thanks Thomas.

Hi probe if you don’t mind where did you get the 1541 pi case and is your c64 case black or painted black? Looks nice.

Sorry thomas for noise in your thread!:)

The black case is made by Pixelwizard, they used the real C64c molds. This kit by Thomas makes sure the Ultimate64 made by Gideon fits properly. Originally it's made for the the old motherboard and also fits the MK2 motherboard. You would still need some extra stuff for the MK2, keyboard mounts for example. Thomas also makes these in various colors(check out his webshop). The Pi1541 is a custom job by Testsson, active member on this forum.

Received with thanks. However bracket for user port not fit properly ( must cut it a bit later) but I'm very happy for other brackets - fit perfect. Feedback left.

What about the userport bracket doesn't fit.

There might be a tiny bit of residual material in there preventing it from sliding in. Have a close look. It is a snug fit...

Looks it is different construction of commodore cases, I have installed Ultimate in C64C case (first edition with symbols on the front of keys). As you see the plastic in this place is very thick and unable to use bracket. In the newer version this problem not exist. Today checked all my c64 newer version are fine to mount all brackets, the older not. But it's not your fault - as I said I'm very happy from the brackets.

Ah, yes, I see. That would certainly prevent the Userport bracket from sliding into place.

I'm pleased to hear that you're happy with the kit.

Since this has been discussed a lot (around the net), I thought it would be helpful to ask this question...

For those living outside of Canada, who have received their kit, I think it would be beneficial to post a quick message here indicating if any fees/taxes/duty/VAT had to be paid, and how much it was.

This will help others get an idea of what to expect when their packages arrive... or help people to decide whether it's financially feasible to order this kit.

Thank-you

I'm still waiting for my U64 so I have plenty of time to decide in which case it will be nested! Your kit will definetely be my choice to go, but before ordering pixelwizard case + your kit I kindly ask if you have in mind to create something for breadbin cases too. To be honest, I like these a lot more than C64c ones, and I have one breadbin case to spare for that purpose...

Hello,

Yes, I do plan on creating a kit for the breadbin as well. I will certainly post here when I have something to show!
