Hi!

I have available for sale up to 10 x 8.5 ROM for the Blizzard SCSI KIT IV. These will be made out of AMD 27C256 EPROMs, 90 ns, programmed with a dump of an original chip (a slower 120 ns part).

Please note the 8.5 ROM code is available on the Internet, so you actually pay the EPROM chip and programming.

Sold parts list:
DoogyRev - 1
OoZic - 1
gounderse - 1

Interested in 1 piece as I am to lazy to buy just 1 27c256 from Ebay and burn it myself, will PM :)

Sorry a bit off topic but changing the Eprom to a faster part makes a measureable difference ?

Off topic too, but I'd also like to ask a similar question. Is v8.5 likely to be above my own rom level in my scsi IV? If so, what are the benefits? Thanks.

Hi, no it should not make any difference, I just wanted to point that it will be no slower than a "genuine" part so no problems with the new chip :)

Hi, 8.5 is the latest version available so it depends on how old your controller is, you can check by typing

version 1230scsi.device

in a CLI. I see that older controllers for sale here have e.g. version 8.2
I suppose the benefits are better compatibility with peripherals and performance.

An update: the ROMs have been sent yesterday, this evening I will be able to supply the codes for tracking to the buyers.

Hi Stefan!

I am surprised you already received the ROMs, since according to the tracking they still are in Milan :D Maybe there is an issue with the packages to Germany and Norway, I only knew the ones sent to UK and Holland had left Italy.

A not-so-sunny Italy in these days, rainy gives a better picture ;)

Will leave feedbacks soon!

Bought a Blizzi a few days ago from Italy , tracking said Milan ...but Blizzi said already hello to Munich  ....

so better this way than the other way around :D ,
may the Italian post service is faster than light :p

thx a lot and greetings to rainy Italy
