CLIP — Continuous Liquid Interface Production — is a breakthrough technology that grows parts instead of printing them layer by layer.

The company, Carbon 3D, has developed a new type of 3D printer which grows 3D objects out of a pool of liquid resin.

It's a lot faster than more traditional layer based printers. Printing a fairly complex object in just 7 minutes. Watching a video of the printer in action makes it hard to believe what it's doing. Almost magic!

Here's a video showing it in action:

Take a look at the company to find out a lot more about this process.

The Terminator T-1000 can do that too :)

Very cool technology though, me wonders what it will cost?

I saw this a little while ago and it is very cool. It could well lead to cheap and easy mass production of objects.

According to a friend of mine this should be possible to do from off the shelf parts.
