A1200 Accelerator for Whdload

Hi.

Im new to this board, Hopefully ill get this right tho.

Im looking for a Accelerator card for my A1200, Keep in mind tho i dont or rather i cant spend a fortune on it and im pretty clueless what i need.

So if you have anything for sale " Nothing super panzy " im intrested.

Had to edit the post to make sure i must have a turbocard to play some games on with whdload?
trying to catch up on the reading to set my self in how it works.

A ram card with 8mb will do nicely, you do not need a cpu upgrade. It will cost less too.

Tanks Acid , Im mainly after playing old games like monkey island, eotb serie etc. Just unsure what i need i have the 4gb card etc but have not got it in the a1200 yet

I found 2 cards.

One M-tec 1230/28 8meg read this card has issues with conflicts on the pcmcia port and screws up the fastram somehow " no idea never tried the card " were also something else with this card
One Blizzard 1220/4 only 4meg here and need some expansion card to get 8 but that expansion i asume dont grow on threes.

Both of these are kinda cheap around 80£ but i guess they would possibly fill my needs.

I am not sure why the 1230 would conflict with the pcmcia port as it has an 030 on it which means the fast ram should be in a different address space, there is no mention of a conflict on amiga resource but big book does say it conflicts, maybe someone who has one can clarify? The Blizzard 1220/4 requires a specific add on board to add an additional 4mb to it to make it 8mb and they are extremely hard to come by - I've only seen one for sale since I got back into the Amiga 6 years ago.

Almost any ram only board will conflict with the pcmcia port if it has more than 4mb ram on it. Most 030 or above cpu accelerators should be fine with any ram.

If all you want to do is whdload games, get an ACA1221e, best bang for buck giving you the ram you need and even minor acceleration for around $100 new. http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1296

The M-Tec indeed conflicts with pcmcia but a simple solution is to set a jumper to a 4mb position and keep it in that mode or only set the jumper when the pcmcia slot is needed.
