Wow.. The Italian guy tells me after I bought it that shipping is €37.. Is it that expensive in Italy to ship stuff ??

I made a quick quote Italy-Netherlands, considering 5-10kg weight, that would be €17 tracked. Worst case scenario €25.

Well.. He didn't want to use a sensible carrier but insisted on his beloved Italian postal service as it is close to his home so I bit the bullet and paid for it. NOS Amiga 1200 boards are too rare not the acquire.

recap the hell out of them!

I must have been lucky, the batch I have show no sign of cap problems, although I have only removed the shielding from three. One of these has been recapped, again with no cap leakage evident. Will be doing them all at some point, better to prevent this type of damage.

Oh, he also under quoted me on postage, maybe that's made him more cautious!

none of my boards have leaking, simply the capacitors are not good anymore, probably they lowered the voltage or capacitance (if that's the right term). Anyway over time the boards become unreliable and I get general system failure, or can't read the drive and so on. Unfortunately I had to recap all of them.

That's a good point, I have only really used the recapped board for any length of time. The other two boards I have tested weren't powered up for more the 30min each. Will get the multimeter out and have a further look.

I hear you.. Will make a package including those two and send them to TBTorro in Denmark.. Got about 20-odd Amiga's so recapping those I keep and the rest I part from.. Hope I can find a big enough dumpster ?

Today I checked the Track and Trace code of that Postali website as it has been about a week now.. could not make heads or tale but google translated it for me.. and it stated delivered on 31.08 .. interesting as I was not there, no letter in the mailbox and I asked the neighbor who is NOT and Amiga Collector (lol) but no dice.. This is why I wanted him to use DHL and not some overpriced half ass standard postal service.. the money is one thing.. but NOS Amiga 1200 boards are priceless

Asked the seller to contact his postal office.. will keep you posted on how this fairs!

The seller has put a new ad onto ebay.it for two another motherboards.
If someone is interested, you have just to enter the following words onto ebay.it: AMIGA 1200 MOTHERBOARD VER. 1D4 NUOVA!!!! (NOS) ROM V3.1 (V40.68) - NEW

Voilà!

I find it a bit odd since I asked if he had more because of combined shipping.. seen the steep postal charge.

He must have a supplier himself then.. Let's find out..

Regarding my boards I opened up a case and asked for clarification.. waiting now.

Very strange, I had no shipping problems with the same service, cant remember who actually delivered the package in the UK though but it was fast, around 4 days in total. He was very quick/short in email comms, no problems, I think his English is basic (although 100% better than my Italian!). He did get back in touch after the boards arrived offering me more, to me he sounded like a middle man not the original supplier.

I also haven't had any issues with this seller.
The motherboard was very well packaged with a strong box.
The track service of the Italian Post is very bad... but it's not the only one!

Sure, no assumptions on my behalf, just again issues with eBay and Italy.. Sent a NOS CD32 to someone and they lost it.. Took several letters and a postal worker who recalled the box being marked with specific eBay Sellers Logo Stickers to find it.. In one piece.. And working!!
