I have supported the A1200net kickstarter from the very beginning and got one of the first cases from the initial production run.
These cases were and still are advertised as UV resistant material, which won't yellow over time.

Please have a look at this:

Has anybody else got the same case with the same issues? The keycaps are brand new and it shows the difference and yellowing quite clear.
Do i need to retrobright this case now? This is very disturbing as the quality of the product is not holding up to the promises made.

The first I have seen, however a1200net state "The plastic used in production is more UV resistant". Which does not mean it will not yellow.

That statement is not true. The UV light resistance of original A1200 cases were just as good or even better as they just started to yellow after the same time or even later.

This is a screenshot from the original kickstarter:

It is even underlined to emphasize this feature.

I have some a1200.net keycaps from the first kickstarter that have begun to yellow too.

When did they produced these cases?
A quick search shows that ASA plastic keeps it's color for about 15-20 years.

Around the end of 2016/beginning of 2017

I doubt he used ASA plastic. This yellows like the old bromine plastic from the original cases

The same thing has been discussed several times on Facebook groups.
They can yellow but supposedly less than original cases.

I can't say myself, i have only coloured cases from A1200.net.

Has this one been exposed to sunlight?

well, i dont live in a darkened room, so sunlight is coming through the window

I've seen those posts as well.

I think the best option is to buy a coloured case other than White

I have seen that in the past but, the statement I quoted is currently written on their website for the white a1200 case.

This is also written, . Our new Amiga 1200 case, made from better UV-resistant plastic, retains its color longer, which suggests the older previous were not as good.

It seems to be more of the Kickstarter cases turning yellow than any of the later ones released to the public

Perhaps they (A1200.net) discovered this early on and corrected it.

If you use time machine on their website, you can see that their original claims of "never yellowing" were watered down to "more resistant to yellowing". When I called them on this on the Facebook group, they got very angry and acted very unprofessionally. Instead of owning up, they flat out denied it until I pointed them to the older versions of their web pages and the original kickstarter. It's a shame because, generally speaking, the cases and keycaps are really good quality. It's just a pity the guys that run A1200.net lack basic professionalism.

I think he made a good amount of money from the kickstarters alone (almost 500k) + revenues from the shop sales. He could at least offer some kind of compensation, but dude is just shutting down any critics or deny facts until proven wrong. He is not honest and doesnt care about the time, patience and money people invested. Looking at my 7 year old case and brand new keycaps, that thing looks like it has been stored in the attic for 30 years. Its a shame...

I bought new keycaps last year and hoping they're not the older ones!

Just to add to this thread, I bought a new clear 1200 case last week, to house a Mistress 1200 I’ve just ordered. Was rather dismayed upon opening it to see the following :

Seller has been very helpful, and will send out a replacement next week. However I’m now concerned about whether the one I have is a faulty one-off (or batch issue), or if they’ll all do this? £100+ for a case that yellows quickly isn’t going to be money well spent. Was inspired to get the case from Jan Beta’s video. Here’s what it should look like :

I have one clear new in box waiting until i have time to put a mobo inside. I will check how it looks to report.
