A3000 Kickstart

Hi

My newly acquired A3000D has 2MB Chip, some FAST RAM & an HDD installed.
It does not detect the HDD or FAST upon boot (from disk).

Kickstart is V3.0, but I had a chat with the previous owner who says he put A1200 ROMs in there, something didnt work right (he cant remember what) so he just let it go...

So my question is, does the A3000 need specific ROMs ?

Yes, the A3000 has specific ROM's. The ROM's contain "Bonus Code" which configures up to 16 MB of motherboard Fast memory and a real "scsi.device". The A1200 ROM's only have the ide_scsi.device (and carddisk.device or cd.device?). Get yourself some real A3000 ROM's and you'll be a lot happier!

Yup, that's exactly what I'd expect to happen if you use A1200 ROMs in an A3000. Get some real A3000 ROMs (Even if they're 2.04 or even 1.4 ones)
