I believe the problem you are having is Buster related, infact I suspect a solder fracture on the Buster (or RAMSEY) IC.

Thats great advice there Zetr0, perhaps even a dodgy Buster socket?
Another thing, I had similar problems of the dreaded yellow screen, but carefully cleaning and straightening the little tags within, of the CPU connectors on both the mobo and the CPU board itself, plus adding the correct sized spacers (thanks Juv ), cured mine of that. That might be worth a try too :)

With your yellow screen up & running, press the Caps lock key with 1 second intervals. If it stops responding to LED on-off-on-off, thereafter the LED staying either off or on, then it's more than likely your CPU connector on the motherboard as you already know the CPU cards work on another mobo.

If this LED doesn't lock on or off, then remove buster if socketed & re-seat. Pressing lightly on all socketed chips might clear it, though removal cleaning & replacing is the better choice. Be sure to use a PLCC extraction tool or else you have a high chance of splitting the socket/s. They become very brittle with age.

As I said in a post on the previous page the board now boots fine
(no more yellow screen)

The problem is that it's not detecting Zorro cards nor Fast RAM....
And I'm fairly sure that if Hikey, who's kinda of an "expert" on these boards, can't fix it without spending a tremendous amount of time on it, sadly it's a lost case :(

I missed that on post #17 drbrain. Apologies for wasting your time.
