It's annoying having to change the clock coin battery every couple of years now that the rechargeable Ni-Cad one (dead) has been replaced! It comes around!
Solder some long black and red wires to the board, and if it's dead, cut it, strip the wires a bit and resolder, easier than constantly desoldering it on your board and putting a new one in.
That said, this should be redesigned in future boards

I'm interested in a full case and front bezel for a4000d
As I said, a reworked version of the case is possible and I am up for doing that so a4000d owners can get a version that will accept the A4000 mainboard and daughter board. Making it accept the A4000T and A4000D pcb’s from the get go isn’t an option but it can be not too far behind 😃

Nearly at maxed out Ram (Cyberstorm + Mobo) just swapped out a 8MB Simm for a 16MB so 128MB now total up from 120MB Fast Ram!

I never seen any Amiga program or game use up a 100MB of fast ram, WHDLoad reserves the whole fastram, but doesn't nearly use it all.
That said, Big ram card in there with it and you can lose the slow onboard 16MB

Shapeshifter gets through Ram especially if editing large images in Photoshop. I changed the clock battery and reseated the glitching scandoubler/flicker-fixer on my Picasso IV while I was there. You've got to save up the jobs to warrant taking it apart!

Excellent stuff! Look forward to that day 👍🏻

OK, now the latest batch of A4000D cases are leaving the building I can get back to this.

With perfect timing Randell Jesup sent me a care package to help out……

Yes that’s an engineering prototype CBM A4000T front cover

I made a steel box for Randell to ship this over to the UK, he really has come through for us to make this dream come alive. This is the original design idea which IMO is better than the one Commodore put into the very short run they did.

Now I can copy the CAD information and fill in the gaps with the actual item. We can also ad in the original design notes 1:1 now this is in hand.

I hope you are excited as I am :D

I won’t be surprised if Dr Chris Edwards won’t be purchasing this from you soon 👍🏻😉
Now I cannot wait to get in the queue to buy one of these.
Out of a matter of interest, what are the full dimensions of this case?

Nothing but warm feelings and excitement when looking at that picture 😍 a real masterpiece, you can already sign me up to buy one 😉

Beautiful! A masterclass of design aesthetics of the day! Thank you for attempting to restore this legacy design!

Having been out of the loop with Amiga for a decade, it is just impressive what homebrew projects have appeared in the time I've been away. I'm certainly interested in a case as well. Perhaps not in the first batch since I don't currently own a 4000T main board. If it is adapted for an ATX board or a 4000 with Mediator bus board, it is much more attractive for me. Regardless, keep up the good work!
