Alas, you can't ask for price guides here on Amibay, as it could be perceived as price-driving.

Basic A500s don't have on-board batteries, so there's no risk there, but the A500+ model does, so if you're looking at a plus, do check there's been no battery leakage damage.

I've not had any capacitor-related issues with my Amigas, but I believe it's possible, but then they're relatively cheap to replace. There are a few people on here who know about Amigas and capacitors. I'll let them follow up. :-)

No apologies needed, mate.

The through hole capacitors from the A500 does not suffer from leakage, but they may loose the capacitance as time goes by. Replacing is only advisable on the rare case of a misbehaving board.

About batteries: Andy is right. The original OCS/ECS A500 don't have one built-in. But most trapdoor RAM expansions do, and they leak! A500+ have an on-board battery and that one is the cause for the shortcoming of fully functional A500+ in the market.

changed title and moved to the oracle section.

This is my machine:

I bought it for a good price, since only the scsi hard disk goes 3x more expensive on forums then the price i've got local, from somebody who wanted it gone. (cleaning up garage)

I think if you have a couple of weeks a local search should deliver good results:whistle:

I like the a500 a lot, but there not to much upgrades around to get it at a level of an A1200 so for me it's just old games.

Oo and there are versions with 2.X rom wich are not compatible with old games to some extent, but wanted here badly because they can adress more chipram.

Depends what you wan't to do with it..

Well nothing stopping you in waiting a couple of weeks and have a good look around, i know a guy who sells for xxx eu 4xA500 2xA1200 local.. If only had the time and the space.
