I suppose I could potentially hold the hd in place on top of the floppy drive with a non permanent solution like velcro.
I don't think it will fit there. Due to the space and flat areas on MoBo I do think you have means to rig some type of a shelf together between the back of the 500 to the keyboard and rest the 2.5" HDD drive safely there.

So, I have an ICD AdIDE in one of my oldest revision 3 Amiga 500 C=-keyboards

It’s been mounted since about ‘90-‘91, and works with KS 1.2 and 1.3 - newer also.

One quirk is that booting really only works on the card *if* an LED is installed on the header of the card. Go figure; I think there is a test for resistance, but maybe it’s a slight fault of the card.

Performance is absolutely stellar - if you compare to floppy. The machine really feels zippy, but in reality, it’s only about 5-600 kb/sec.

Using the machine for office and programming is a breeze. Highly recommend upgrade, especially for it’s time period originality.

Pictures of the hard drive installed with the original bracket. I might just make a batch of those brackets…

I have recently acquired a Amiga A500 and I'm planning to upgrade the Workbench to 3.1 however I would also like to install an internal ide hard drive. After a quick search in the web it appears that the A500 does not support ide. Is there a way I can make this happen?
Hello PropBlast,

Thanks
