A500 RAM Question

I have an Amiga 500 which had the motherboard modified so when an extra 0.5MB RAM is installed, it reports a total of 1MB 'Chipmem'. I plan to use this Amiga with normal floppy disks... will the mod create problems for particular games?

maybe with some very old games.

but you can get around this with a simple toggle switch.

A possible problem could be with games requiring 1 MB of RAM but expecting it to be 512 KB of chip and 512 KB of ranger/fast RAM. Then the game would assume it's running on 512 KB and would either not load at all or load a "reduced" version.
If I recall correctly, Unreal by Ubisoft falls in this case (the option "1 MB sound effects" isn't available with 1 MB chip RAM only).
Otherwise, as Roy said, it'd have to be a very old game to behave badly. I'd expect anything written after 1989 to be OK.
