I'm selling my ACA1232 128Mb 25Mhz 030 accelerator with MMU and real-time clock.

I have owned it since new, original bought in 2013. It was at first in my A1200 but then I moved it across to my A500 in a Checkmate 1500 case with an ACA500Plus, where it has been for some years and wizzes along very happily.

The clock had a new battery fitted at the weekend. Comes with original box. I think you can overclock these.

The board autoconfigs with the Amiga and you can copy the kickstart ROM to memory to make things a little faster for Workbench.

More details: https://wiki.icomp.de/wiki/ACA1232

Asking £100 including postage and packaging (in the UK).

Edit: If it doesn’t work just send it back and I’ll refund you the £100. All it costs you is the p&p.

Edit: Item posted today. Tracking number provided.

How easy was this to setup with the ACA500Plus?
Been considering an accelerator for my ACA500plus for a while but was worried about compatibility.
The fact this one was running on an ACA500plus is a bonus.

Thanks

I think it just worked. It appears in the ACA500Plus menus on startup for a few configuration items. Realtime clock is an example, it’s detected and you can pick to use the clock off the A500+, the ACA500Plus, or the ACA1232. With it all being made by the same company it just worked.

You don’t have an option to disable the board in the ACA500Plus menus, this board doesn’t support that. So if you find a piece of software not liking the 030 you have to physically remove the card. Which is awkward if you have it all inside a Checkmate 1500 case but I can’t remember a time I was that desperate to use a piece of software.

There is command line tool named acatune which allows you to fiddle with card but I don’t have it installed on my Workbench 3.1 setup which suggests again it’s just plug-and-play. It even worked with my kickstart 1.3 SD card install.

When the ACA500 first came out people were compiling lists of which A1200 accelerators worked. I seem to remember the ‘original’ cards from the 90’s could be temperamental but the modem stuff, like from icomp.de just worked.

I’ve had it in an ACA500 originally when those came out and it ran fine and then more recently the ACA500Plus.

Yes I'd consider it.

The postage would not be inclusive like for the UK. So it would be £100 plus postage, which look to be anywhere between £20-£35. I'd need to fill in some form by the looks of it because the value is over $100 and you'll need to pay import duties it seems.

I would not extend the offer to refund and post back if the card is not compatible with your Amiga.

It's just a bit awkward for both of us traversing the Atlantic if the card isn't compatible. Where as within the UK @bagpuss22 can turn it around within a couple of days.
