How did you build that Bodega Bay like case for the external drives? That's awesome too!

That's not a solution like the Bodega Bay, it's primarily for the monitor and the external hardware.

You could change the second simm slot to a flat type socket if needed.

At the stage a custom tower is probably best for this configuration, but just a reminder be very, very careful Blizzard PPC cards are now very, very expensive to replace if something go's wrong.

It is something im am regretting right now as one of my cards has gone faulty, but its not a problem repairing it, its just I don't have time to go all though it again, but I have no choice... what a headache.

That was just a funny test for me - the PPC goes back to the A1200 desktop - a normal 1260 is enough power for an Amiga 500. ;)

OS4.1 on A500 :arms

Now what was that where people were saying the ACA shouldn't be an external device? If it wasn't, this may never have been discovered!

That's true but this is more of an experiment, while it's very cool to see....nobody is going to use OS4.1 on an A500 day-to-day.

There was a prototype with AGA + BPPC (A1200 connector) back in the days that were INTERNAL.

Personally I dislike the external solution since even Commodore and GVP extensions that were REALLY pretty, made the Amiga a lengthfull beast that wanted a desk on it's own...
That caseless thing is fun for testing... but not much fun the every day usage (at least for me).

I've only made the test with the new firmware - should I test older firmwares?

Yes, please. I'd like to know if it worked with 0.85 or only with 0.9x versions.

The BPPC only works with the 0.96 and 0.99 firmware - the card dosn't boot with the 0.85 firmware.

Thanks. I also assumed it was "fixed" in 0.9x.

Could attach screenshot of ACA500 system information screen with BlizzardPPC connected?

It seems be a decent amount of space inside the A500 once the RF shielding has been removed, wouldn't it be possible to make some kind of adapter to fit the expansion slot that flips the ACA 500 over so it could be fitted internally?

A riser to move it over the motherboard is easy. You're not going to fit this thing inside a keyboard case, though.

But that's not important. Somebody, anybody: PPC A1000. Live the dream.

I'm guessing the A1000 version will be sidecar as well?

Yeah I think that's the plan but there will also be a connection inside that will give you the full 2mb chip Ram :)

I wouldn't be surprised if Jens made the ACA1000 vertically mounted as that would make sense on an A1000
