accidently plugged external gotek into port when powered up

So, in a moment of complete blondeness, i managed to forget to switch off my Amiga 500 before connecting the external gotek.
Now the port doesn't seem to get any power. The gotek works fine internally and the Disk drive doesn't work externally. So I've deduced there's a problem

But what to check? I dont have schematics and only a basic multimeter with basic knowledge of how to use. Can anyone point me to some areas to check and any possible solutions?

First of all check if DB23 pin12 (5V) and any ground, gives you near 5V while the Amiga is on.
If you look the connector at the back of the Amiga, pin 12 is the top left pin. Pins 3 to 7 are all ground.

Normally when hot plugging floppy into Amiga you most times damage the EVEN CIA chip so swap over the CIA chips and see if you get any different symptoms or the drive then works
