Eeeh!

I do like your proactive preventative measures approach, Bas.

Hand on heart, I had no idea those infamous components were about to go 'south' - I thought the machine had already had the PSU caps serviced and replaced a couple of years back... is it possible they could have deteriorated that quickly or do you recognise these as being original 1980s vintage parts?

Whatever, full marks, fella - I'm indebted to you for being this helpful and naturally add the costs to my repair invoice.

You're a top bloke!

Hi Andy

They are indeed the original parts, but dont worry your PSU will now probably outlive us both lol.

Sending you PM ;)

Fabtastic, Bas.

Chuffed to bits you spotted that old chestnut... would've been just my luck to get the fixed memory problem resolved, returned back to base, then the whole Acorn goes up in smoke like some autumn bonfire!

10/10 - as ever, folks, to The Corfiot.

Thank you very much for the kind words my friend.

I have enclosed some pictures of the finished machine hooked up to an IDE Interface Externally for testing purposes so you can see the 2 work well together.
In anticipation of your IDE Order, your Model B is now to HotROD Spec with 64K ROM support and 32K Sideways RAM.
The new ROM also contains the Advanced ROM manager and Acorn ADFS for the IDE Interface and ADFS floppy drive support.

I have also soldered in a power cable for the IDE Interface to make it easier for you to fit in the future.

Regards
Bas :)

Wonderful, Bas.

She's a beauty again and no longer a beast of an auntie Beeb.

Excellent, thorough job - your hallmark, mate.

I will get on with replying to your PM now and pop the Paypal off to you rightaway.

Once again, many many thanks, Bas, and to anyone else considering having their Beeb repaired/upgraded by The Corfiot... what are you waiting for?!

Acorn service par excellence.

Nice work with the BBC, Bas!

Reminds me I should open up my my Master and change the mains cable to one with an Euro plug as I'm gonna need the plug adapter for other purposes. :D

Did the PSU arrive OK?

Here we go, Bas, and other interested parties - she's back in the Baz cave, old auntie Beeb:

... and looking good as gold once more.

Many, many thanks for the 1st class service, Bas.

Much indebted and will be back in touch shortly for one of your IDEs!
