Adobe PDF writer equivalent

Does anybody have any recommendations on a good alternative to adobe for converting docs to PDF. Ideally freeware but don't mind paying

CutePDF does the job although they're a little larger than a PDF created with full blown Acrobat Pro. Check out...

On our PCs at the dreaded 'workplace' we have a PDFprinter installed and when we send a document to it to be printed it's turned into a PDF and saved to our HD.

Can't remember what it's called but I've got the setup program on my PC.

As far as I know this is freeware and as such if you like I can either Email it to you or find out were it came from.

I still like Foxit reader and Foxit writer.

Both freeware and ridiculous small. No installation needed, BTW.

OpenOffice.org can export to pdf I believe. Very handy.

I have initially used cutepdf as I had an urgent requirement. I will check out all the suggestions to see which is best suited to my needs.
