Hello all. I posted this in another part of this forum for some advice. However it never showed up, maybe the administrator/s didn't approval of the location under general chat. I couldn't find a section for help/general advice. Hoping this is the right place on the forum to list it.

I'm considering purchasing an accelerator card for my A1200, to run ClassicWB, WHDLoad and games from a CFCard.

Locally I can buy a 2nd hand, full working ACA 1230 - 28MHz and 64MB of RAM. The seller has a price on it very close to another another card I can purchase new, however it is a different card.....the ACA-1232 from Vesalia....an ACA-1232 incl. CPU 68EC030/25 MHz and 127+1 MB RAM.

Which would you choose? Is the new card just better all round?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well new card has double the Ram and has a warranty. That's what I would buy.

Thanks, I figured it might be a simple question. Was worried if there was any compatibility issues with these newer cards?

All the aca cards can be picky with A1200s that have timing issues but in my experience the 1232s seem to be less of an issue, the old 1230s pushed the hardware a little more and some of the acatune enhancements were taken away on the new cards for stability reasons I think.

I would personally love to have one of the 1230/56 but it would be for my A500+ with aca500 as it's the fastest 1230 out there and the compact design would be ideal.
