I bought 10 pieces of SOJ40 mem chips from Aliexpress. When I received the package it was something totally else. As the naive westener I am I thought to myself, "for sure the helpful seller will fix this asap" lol.

Not at all. Seller communicates in Chinese and claims there are no proof they did an error even though posting pics and being a previous customer in their shop.
Anyone experienced this before? Can I expect to get money back?

Avoid this store: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/718163?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.2.78081802Sa6Pn2

Second time I have been scammed by Aliexpress this year, ordered 7 GAL16V8C (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100....order_list.order_list_main.76.78081802Sa6Pn2) and got something that could not be flashed at all (and dont even look like the genuine part). Since I did not complain in the time frame you are allowed to that, I can not even leave a bad review now!

Open a case in AliExpress reporting system and provide all the details including photos. My experience is that if your claim is valid you will get a refund no matter what the seller says.

Aliexpress states that their 90 day buyer protection starts from the moment the seller ships the items.

Money Back Guarantee
• If the product is not received within buyer protection period
• If the product is not as described

Refund in 15 Days.

Contact Aliexpress customer support and start your claim. Supply them with pictures of the product(s) you paid for and what you actually received (including any paperwork).

I frequently buy from AliExpress and i got scammed once, i reported the sellers and received a full refund, they are extremely strict against scammer. Sounds more like the seller shipped the wrong item? more sellers now offer paypal which gives you a 6 month time frame.

The dispute process can be rather confusing but AliExpress is usually good about giving you a refund if you have enough proof to back up your claim (pictures/videos).

Seller wanted to see a video of me opening the package, who records themself opening packages? Pics of what was inside the package was not enough for the seller. I sent proof to Aliexpress but they voted in the sellers favor even though it was CLEARLY something totally else what I received than what I ordered. Gave the seller 1 star and called him pig head - next time I wont order from sellers without reviews and I will try not to order from Aliexpress at all - will order from Ebay primary.

Ah, yeah that's a bit much. Sorry that happened to you. I guess if you have to use Ali, just use PayPal, but sometimes it's better to pay a bit more not to have to deal with this stuff.

Scammers everywhere! Some punk recently tried to scam me for £861 on Facebook Marketplace. I paid using the Goods & Services so opened an item not received dispute. He then had one last ditch attempt to still take the money, he offered a partial refund to close the dispute claiming they had posted, but had threw out the postage receipt.

Thanks, I fully agree with you!

If you do end up having to use PayPal for a dispute and they give the money back to you, Ali will probably ban your account. Not really a big deal if it saves you from being scammed but just something to note.

Had an instance where I bought something from AliExpress and EVRI lost/stole the package and updated that it was delivered. AliExpress kept going round in circles then finally claiming no liability, this then was followed by a PayPal dispute.

Got my money back eventually from PayPal.

I now view how many items the shop has sold and checkout the reviews (mostly B/S).

After reading comments like Karlosjackel's, I would stay well away.
