Ok, I'm trying to figure out why this would be a bad idea, and this seems like the best place to suggest this.
I'm thinking about alternate power supplies for a1200's, 500's, etc., because everyone talks about how sketchy they can be, especially with expanded systems. So, why can't we take something like this, drop it in a very simple enclosure with a switch for the mains, and the output cable from an official power supply?
Yes, I know that we can just an AT/ATX power supply, but those are A) bigger, and B) just unpolished looking. Plus, if you buy a new one (to make sure you're not inheriting some problems), they're at least as expensive as the above-linked item.
Just wondering what I'm missing... :?

Ok, fine Zetr0. Looks like I missed a pretty sweet thread. I may very well go down that path.
Nice work, exactly what I was trying to accomplish.
