Hi,

I have an Altos Easystore NAS for sale that is not being used. It comes without hard disks but any sata drives will do. It takes 4 drives total and has been fantastic on my network but with a recent change it is surplus to my requirements. Comes with all manuals, cd`s etc and is in near mint condition.

£40 including postage insured UK only.

It is this one but can arrange pics if required:

Cheers,

Hi, I'm interested in this but just wondering whether you know if it can take 1TB drives to increase the max storage capacity beyond the original 2TB?

Seems to be quite difficult to find much information about this bad boy...

yes it should be fine, the manufacturers specs only show what was available at the time of being published. I have had other brands that showed a smaller capacity than this one and accommodated 2tb drives e.g. 8tb total...

Cheers,

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you happen to know if you can use drives of different capacities to create a single larger spanned volume? Not important, just wondered.

Also, will it be a problem to deliver this to Northern Ireland? I would not be in any particular hurry, so a slower postage method would be fine if necessary.

Thanks again!

not sure on spanning, it may allow you to but never explored the raid options... postage was included but that was uk, i`ll check for a quote mate.

Cheers,

Sorry, although Northern Ireland is in the UK a lot of couriers charge more for delivery so I've gotten into the habit of always double-checking postage costs for everything!

just checking costs now mate,

FYI found this:

Yeah they want £20 ish for delivery via parel2go standard, i`m happy to meet in the middle and honour the previous inclusive but with £10 on top, so £50 all in mate.

Cheers,

Thanks, looks like this device is pretty flexible with regards to RAID options and does support a linear config.

Sent PM to discuss delivery pricing options, don't want to clog up the thread with that. I guess in the meantime this is still available to other people...

EDIT: Interest withdrawn - despite Brattacus's very kind offer to split the extra cost I think the courier is charging a bit much.
