I am helping to organise the systems and games at R3PLAY in the Retro Systems Area.

So far we have had requests for the following games on the Amiga:
Harlequin
Obliterator
No Second Prize
Super Cars 2
Apidya
Super Cars 2
SWOS or Kick Off
Utopia
Eco or Virus
Canon Fodder
Lemmings

Would anyone be able to bring these? I am not famaliar with all those games, so please do let me know if any would be unsuitable for the event, and of course if anyone has any further suggestions please post them here.

To keep things simple in the Retro Systems Area we are planning on having 4 games per system, running 2 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday. This planning is also to avoid all systems playing the same game or same type of game at the same time (E.g. we don't want everything playing Lemmings or all the Amigas and Megadrives playing SWOS or everything playing a Racing game at the same time). If anyone requests anything else to play at the event and we have it, we will also of course run that too. I am not yet sure if the people from Amibay who are bringing machines are going to have their own area or be placed in the Retro Systems Area, but judging from what people have said they are bringing so far, I guess you would need at least 4 tables, but more likely 6.

I am also planning on taking my Amiga 1200 8MB which has a SCART cable to connect to a TV and has a CF card full of WHD Load Games, and Woddy is planning on taking his Amiga 3000 which I believe also has a CF HDD full of games.

We have also had a few requests to run Stunt Car Racer using a 2 Player Amiga Link Up. Would anyone be able to do this? If anyone also knows of any other good games that can be played on linked Amigas please suggest them.

There has also been some interest for some Amiga 4 Player Gaming (using a parallel multitap to run 2 extra joysticks) including Dynablaster (Bomberman) and Gauntlet II and I wondered if anyone would be able to run this?

hi

hi

i have my x86 amiga clone runing aros native OS ,cdtv ,cd32,1200 8gig hd 128meg 50 mhz lots of games octamed sound studio one of thing the amiga has always been good at producing music i could make a tune through the day show peeps how easy it is and to see just why the amiga kicked the pc ass for so many years i will be there all weekend may be dj ing in one of the night clubs so if i am free entry for all the Amiboyz as we are all leaving the ball n chain @ home lol:thumbsup: anyway let me know i would love to do some thing

@dj.echo

I would LOVE to see this... so far theres going to be a lot of gaming systems - it would be nice as well to see the evolutoin - especially with AROS and Octamed... sounds like a match made in heaven to be honest!!!!!!!!

it would also be awesome to show Amiga Games running from AROS too =)

As far as I am aware - for those exhibiting systems and setups theres free entry -
systems would need to be setup on the Friday at the Castle Exhibition Center (r0jaws will have more info)

@starship

most of the Amigas will have WHDLoad - with pretty much the entire Amiga Game Library on them -

Theres plenty of multiplayer and multi-link player games that we are planning on doing - like 4 player (two machine) lotus2, - 2 machine Stunt Car Racer link -

For the big boxes - null modem ADOOM 1/2 and Network ADooM/AQuake fora bit of fun - but the classic games will be there for attendees to jump on for a good thrill from Defender of the Crown to Project X or Superfrog - there will be no game left behind LOL.

I suspect 90% of the Amiga on display will have the complete Amiga Game library - so the people that attend can get a good look at whats on and available - we plan on having some simple (how to use) cards on display as well as machine history.

The idea is simple - maximize the small display space with as much Amiga Gamery as possible =)

Im staying at the hotel mentioned above :-)

As stated in the post above by StarshipUK, I am taking my Amiga 3000 with CF HDD and a shit load of games & demos on it (I love to sit and watch Jesus On Es :) )
I'm also taking an Amstrad CPC 6128.

From my corner of the globe

Juvie = Custom A4000 Tower (with some nice trimmings)
Mrs Juv = A600 (8MB Fast + 2MB Chip + 4GB HDD)
r0jaws = Custom A1200 PPC
FitzSteve = A4000 Desktop
Wasgi = A1200 (with some nice trimmings)
Me = A2000 Hybrid
Jay = CDTV with some cool bits too

The above are confirmed at the RoseBank Villa - I am not sure how many rooms are left - I do hope that imnogeek can make it =)

I can also bring to bare a lot more stuff like CD32 / A4000 / Suped up A1200 but space is limmited so I would rather others brought stuff that they are attending to if the can =)

I've updated the list of systems available in the first post.
I'll message everyone closer to the time to confirm that they are still coming, and that their system is good to go with monitor/ TV. :)

As to who is staying at the hotel, so far I know definitely Zetro, Jay and I have rooms.
I think a couple of others have also booked rooms, I'll add those names to the first post as well.

Hey guys maybe ya could do a live amibay cam on your table for those to far away:thumbsup:

Ladies and gents, I've updated the first page to reflect further requests from the organisers.
I've contacted a couple of volunteers by PM to confirm a few details, but we're looking good.
Arcadian has updated the planned Amiga layout, and I've attached it at the bottom.

Unfortunately, we've had to turn down a couple of kind offers of systems as there simply isn't room for everything that we can provide. I've contacted those members directly, but would just like to offer my thanks again for their offers of help.

.....We have also had a few requests to run Stunt Car Racer using a 2 Player Amiga Link Up. Would anyone be able to do this? If anyone also knows of any other good games that can be played on linked Amigas please suggest them.

No problem, Zetro is happy to set this up using his 500, your 1200 and a null modem cable. :)

...There has also been some interest for some Amiga 4 Player Gaming (using a parallel multitap to run 2 extra joysticks) including Dynablaster (Bomberman) and Gauntlet II and I wondered if anyone would be able to run this?

I have asked JuvUK if he will set up his 1200 to be available for these 4 player games, we have a 4 player adapter and a hoard of controllers so hopefully that shouldn't be a problem.

@r0jaws I received your PM ok, don't know if you go the reply as I read there are problems with the PM's I think :huh:

Do you still want me to bring the PPC/Tower? I don't see it on the front page? I've got at least three combinations of setups I can run on it.

OS4, OS3.9 and will can bring along my Blizzard 1260 as I still have the HDD in the Tower with my Classic Workbench P96 setup so we can run that if the PPC needs a rest...

Steve.

ummm, it's a A4000 not a A1200 is that OK?

I'm sure that said Wasagi before, the edit Ninja has been here :ninja:

I've finally got my payment for ticket sorted out. So i'm coming now. I booked at the RoseBank Hotel too. I'll be there Saturday Midday (train links from Windsor to Blackpool are 1 per hour, arrive in Blackpool North 11:22). And most of Sunday.

I'm up for a custom printed T-shirt too if they are still going to be made. I think that would be fun :) I can pay up front if need be.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing you guys that are going. I'm quite excited as its probably the only opportunity I will get whilst living here in the UK for a short time to do such a meetup :)

cool! another new person to meet:)

i have a feeling this is going to be a VERY cool show.

do we have a list of confirmed attendees yet? could we make a list if not?
