Closed Amiga 1000 internal diskdrive

Hi everyone,
I have a faulty internal diskdrive from my Amiga 1000 and wonderd if anyone has a spare one for me to sell.
Or if you know which other Amiga diskdrive would fit that would be great also.

Here’s the mod. Add a 2200R resistor at R13 on the drive and the LED to A+K pads.

You can modify an A500 drive. Chinon FB-354. You may need to solder a resistor to the board to get the LED working and a tiny bit of hot glue to stop the eject button slipping off, but it works a treat.

I have done this myself, cannot remember resistor details, but can check if interested.

Thank you so much!! you made my day I thought I was a goner since my Amiga 1000 drive did not work anymore...

Now I can buy a working Amiga 500 drive and do the mod you mentioned. Still hope I can figure it out with the resistor etc. since I`m not that technical :S

So the Amiga 500 diskdrive fits in the case from the Amiga 1000 or does it need to modifie to fit in ?

The drive fits without mods. It’s just the bar at the front where the button is, is slightly shorter, so I used a little hot glue to stop it falling off the end. I’ll take some pictures tomorrow for you.

Hope these give you some idea. As you can see from the outer case the original drive was a Panasonic (Matsushita), but the drive fitted is a Chinon FB-354. The eject button is the original removed from the Panasonic drive.

The A and K on the pads are for Anode (+) and Cathode (-)

Sorry to bother you again but I recently did a retrobright to my Amiga 1000 keyboard which was very yellowed... I was putting all the keys back and noticed that one of the telfon clips has a small piece missing, they are Mitsumi Type 2 switches who were used in the Amiga 1000 keyboards. now my in this case F6 key wiggles which I do not like... I searched on Ebay and did find a seller who sells these keys seperately , but what a price!!! he is asking $19 for just 1 cap + switch, shipping $29 dollars and import taxes $11 so that small piece would cost me more then 50 euro`s which is of course a outrages price ! I do not mind to pay some money for it but I refuse to pay so much for this small piece..

Now I`m hoping that you could help me out maybe to find me this Mitsumi Type 2 switch, you would really make me happy!
