Looking for a space bar for an Amiga 1000 keyboard

why thanks for the heads up as I'm pretty sure i have an extra A500 keyboard in my basement & didn't think of the space bar being the same

I'm currently renovating my basement so everything is in boxes right now but will check & let you know

If the A500 key doesn't fit, I can help you out with a space bar from an A1000 keyboard.

I can confirm 100% that the A500 space bar (or any A500 keys for that matter) do NOT work on an A1000 keyboard. Totally different design.

Oh, dint know this probably the a1000 was made with components from last serie 64 and 128 computers?

Hi there,

Back again with some photos.
Argh, I lost one of the springs... maybe something else can be adapted.

As we discussed in pm, the space bar is the only key on the keyboard that has yellowed, this seems quite common (?).
I tried to highlight this in the photos by including a couple of other keys in the pic but all I seemed to highlight was how grubby everything is (I'm no photographer!)

Anyway, sending a pm requesting postal address if you are still interested.

many thanks for the pics Stu. Funny in that I know 4 other A1000 owners that say the only key that has yellowed on their keyboards is the space bar. anyhow i'll gladly take it & try to whiten it up best i can

Thanks for the update.

The package was held up a few days here as the staff at my local post office are morons.

I still haven't been back there to pay for the postage yet...

Anyway I'm so relieved it arrived. I will leave feedback when I next get myself in front of a PC.
