I had a few of the A1000 Kickstart Relocators by EzdineG made, as I wanted one for my Amiga 1000, and now I have some extras. I am making them available as bare boards, a kit, or fully completed.
What do these do? The Amiga 1000 does not have a Kickstart, instead, it has a simple ROM and expects Kickstart to be loaded from floppy. This relocator shifts the position of the CPU, and adds up two ROM sockets to place one or two 27C400 EPROMs containing the Kickstart of your choice, switchable through the pins on the card. The relocated CPU socket also allows one to attach an accelerator without bumping into the floppy drive.
Installation requires modifications to the Amiga 1000 and some soldering and desoldering.
The bare board is as pictured, ready for soldering. The kit includes everything in the BOM including pins, sockets, headers, and wire, but does not include a 27C400 EPROM. The fully assembled board is a completely assembled kit, without any 27C400 EPROMs, and will be tested on an Amiga 1000 before shipment. Please allow 2-4 extra days for the assembled board.
