GAL sadly won't fit where I need the chip on the daughter board. Thank you for the offer though

What do you mean will not fit? It is same physical size with PAL chip.... The only difference between PAL and GAL is that PAL is one time programmable while GAL chips are reProgrammable..

I was under the impression that the GAL was the larger square chip. (I apologize, I'm still learning AMIGA / Old hardware). You're saying the GAL can replace the PAL and still operate the same?
