Amiga 1200 floppy header. What is it?

Working on a couple of newer Amiga 1200's which have faulty disk drives. While I was working on them I noticed that there was a header board thing attached to the floppy controller and then the cable ran from that.
Any idea of what this is?

hi it looks like a pc floppy coverter to use pc floppys on the amiga

I have the same on my A4000T

I tried a pc floppy but no go with that.

Amiga Technologies put them in later A1200s as there were compatibility issues with games due to missing signals. This board re-adds those signals. Or something alongs those lines
