My Replacement Power Supply finally finished!!!

I finally got around putting/connecting in a telecom box the EOS power supply for my Amiga 500. After months being without power supply my original power supply became a clock making clicking noise, I was able to start my Amiga 500 and troubleshoot my spare one. I was fortunate enough to get hold one of those Amiga 500 power plugs sold on Amibay recently as not to destroy my original faulty power supply Connector. Pictures below. I used motherboard stands to mount the power supply in the box and epoxy glue.

Is the sound working fine with this ? Had an ATX converter bought on Ebay 1 month ago and the sound is all jarbled up. Doesn't happen with my Original PSU, so I know its the adapters fault.

am pleased with your inquiries but unfortunately I do not have any EOS PSUs for sale left.


I can obtain some but not for price as the last sale so I don't know if 70+10Euro for one PSU including shipping is feasible.

They're available from RS at £46.82 each, and with UK VAT becomes £56.18. They can order this part as they're currently out of stock, but I'm wondering how well they perform. Can anyone on here give us some feedback? Did anyone measure the real life voltages? Did you look at ripple?

The 5V line is 5.2V (8A)
The 12V line is 12.5V
The -12V line is -12.5V

Ripple on the 5.2V line is 65mV according to published specs. I'm more interested in the voltage though as it seems to be on the boundaries of an upper safe voltage level. In other words, the Amiga will run a little warmer than usual, albeit, only a tiny amount (5.2V compared with 5V). I think the last Amiga PSU I measured was 4.87V - 4.9V. Ideally I'd like 5V and 12V and -12V exactly or as close as possible!

This PSU is much smaller than the 20 years old original - no screws match.

You could always mount it on a plate that extends to the original screw holes.
