Well, this part is technically a spare but, if it as you say, then I guess it should have been fine in the hardware for sale area, right
@davideo ?
part of the problem may be definition - "spares and repairs" seems to resonate with the UK crowd and is used on your ebay perhaps (from reading the other thread), but for us North Americans, "spares and repairs" doesn't click at all. ebay doesn't classify things here as "spares and repairs".
you can list items as FOR PARTS / NOT WORKING which makes sense on something that was once working (like a motherboard or graphics card) - but personally it doesn't really apply to things like a case, or drive bracket, or a set of A3000 case-screws, or an expansion cover, etc. They're not FOR PARTS, they ARE parts...
Even when people choose to list as USED instead of strictly "FOR PARTS / NOT WORKING", the listing will often say something explicitly like "UNTESTED, AS-IS". Or say "this is sold expressly without warranty due to 30+ year old electronics". That includes on this site.
Should every listing on this site that includes clauses like "as-is" or "you take the risk" now be listed under "spares and repairs"?
I want to follow the rules, but they're not clear where i should list my items. Or do i just list items under For Sale and moderators move to Spares / Repairs? Not ideal, more work for moderators.
One request I would kindly make - if the moderators DO move an item from For Sale to Spares/Repairs, can they please notify on the thread so that the seller can be made aware and better learn the right place to post to over time?
Thanks,
Brian.
