Amiga 4000 HDD LED required

hello all,

what are the LED's called on the front of the A4000? my HDD one has died but Ebay and RS have millions of different types?

the A4000 ones have two long legs from the LED , which is rectangle shape and thin...

anyone?

The LED's are removeable if you look at the back of the A4KD panel. If you carefully remove it, you can measure it up for a match.

You were right, i am here to bring this one from the dead.

My A4000 HD LED was very faint lately, now after an uptime of more than 10 hours while copying a lot of files, it seens to be totally dead.
I would like to find a straight replacement ready to fit in the front cover and plug on the mobo.
Anyone would have a source?

They're just rectangular diffused LEDs, I've bought replacements before but I think I already gave them away. Measure the old one to be sure you get the correct size.

Thanks. I guess no one is selling them ready to be installed and some soldering is needed.
I have very basic skills but i guess i could solder the legs on the old wires and cover them with tape. Is there a polarity?

No soldering needed, just pull and replace. One leg is longer just take note but I think actually didn't matter which way round

If someone come again in 15 years to look for LEDs, i have finally bought these ones from Amazon which match the ones from Mouser you showed to me on a1k.

I have replaced the LED. The old one had the legs totally corroded, how strange, the power led is not at all and still working.
I should have replaced the green one at the same time though because the new one is way brighter than the old ones.

Hi, I should need a couple of leds since I'm building and A4000.
With replace of case and front facial I have all the components but I still miss the power and hard drive leds.
Do you have them available?

Yes i can give you some, but shipping might be more expensive than finding them locally.
In order to use them with PRS's front replica, they need to be trimmed a bit.
I would also need proper cables to use them with these covers.

Hi i only find 2x5x7 , in principle it should be 1.7x4.5x6.4. Have anyone tried with the above ?
