Amiga 4000 keyboard and mouse issue.

Dream Amiga 4000 is coming together. This one came to me fully working, battery still in it, but removed it well in time. Tested it, used it for a bit. No issues. Decided to do some cleaning, retrobrighting, so far didn't want to touch anything on it in terms or recap. Now the mouse and keyboard don't work after I put the nice 1995 looking clean plastics back on. Like she's mad at me for making her look beautiful again. :-(

Mouse: buttons work, I can get into the boot menu, but no way to move cursor. Tried 3 different mice and a trackball, which I know all work.
Keyboard: CAPS lock works, C+A+A reset gives one LED blink, but the 4000 doesn't respond to the keyboard at all.

Any ideas as to what 2-4-1 weirdness I'm dealing with here? Any suggestions on what to do? Much appreciated.

She was, but has been cleansed by the rays of he sun.

Connections are good. Things are clean, no rust or any funky business. It worked a recent while back, and I did try multiple input devices.

I'm reading around, and starting to think it maybe a suddenly lost connection on U975...hopefully only that. But would that impact the keyboard as well? I'm going to clean up and check continuity as a starting point. These things can be a little wild from what I see out there. No two issues are the same, but the problem seem to be connected to the battery with U975, so that all makes some sense. Would U975 mess with the keyboard too?

LOCK! Frikken LOCK! Go ahead...I can handle it. Look, I'm just getting back into the Amiga after many years of absence, so I deserve a giggle or two. Thank goodness I figured that out before I took the soldering iron to the 4000. LOCK-Y!

Problem with mouse not working on 4000? Keyboard not resetting? Check the LOCK position!

Well, all boots well, all boards work (IV24, Emplant, A2091 for CD-ROM only, GBAPII++), Conner Hard Drive spinning up. Hello Amiga heaven...time to fire up those productivity applications and be productive!
