Hi everyone, I'd like to introduce myself since I am new here.

So I am a German Amiga 500 nerd. Well when i was a teenager my dad gifted me a C-64 when i was 8 years old. Soon after i managed to annoy him long enough to have him buy the floppy for x-mas (Datasette was sooooo slow). :)

And when one of my best friends got an Amiga 500 it was clear i also had to get one, so a year later i spent all my childhood savings to buy a used one with the whooping 512KB RAM upgrade (1MB total).

What should i say - i still have that Amiga 500 and even though it looks a bit miserable it still works. OK some floppies kinda lost their data over the past 20 years (Or rather 26ish years?), sometimes they also give "Guru meditation", but still love this machine.

I also just fulfilled an old dream by buying the "useless and overpriced" A570 which was far beyond my budget back in the 1990s. I say "useless" since i never really understood why commodore didn't make the A570 compatible with the A590... :blased:

Moin from Germany as well. It is strange how different persons can exactly feel the same about the Amiga 500 :-). Although playing around for a while now it is time to upgrade to the big brother A2000. Let's see if you feel the same after some time.

Have fun!

Best regards,

Volker

PS: Think the same about the A570, great design but why is there no pass through?

Hi Volker! I'd probably already have an Amiga 4000 if they weren't so expensive... If the wife wouldn't keep my wallet so light.... XD

Yeah i also wondered why there is no passthrough for the A570. I was wondering if i should ask about a SCSI adaptor for the A570 here, but i guess it would cost an arm and a leg? But would be sooooo awesome to have an Amiga 500 with CD and SCSI. I'd also like to have that homemade A570 2MB fastram card, but i think it's rare as hens teeth...
