Amiga 600 / Sega Genesis Controller

Hi,

I ran Genesis controllers for years as a kid on my A600 and a few years ago on my last A600 build.

I now see issues online claiming they cause damage and adaptors to mod the pin mapping.

Has something changed as I never had an issue just using them as is?
