Indeed, The AMIGA CASE will be made by using molds. Only way, 3D printing isn't possible.

The campaign ends in 2 weeks, june 12 to be exact. Put this date in your agenda !!

Its still possible to make it happen.

Kind Regards,

Schuimpy / Jarno

This case really suits my needs and I intend to pledge very soon! (So many BS bills at the moment and also had a big contract fall through recently too so kinda overstretched my budget last month with other stuff) That being said surely there will be a way to supply in an 'print on demand' type of offer perhaps? Dunno fingers crossed for this project though :)

I don't think there will be any "print on demand" in case of campaign failure. The cases are not going to print, these will be made using molds and these will not be made in case of campaign failure as these are pretty expensive and money is needed mainly for making these molds.

Dear Supporters, AMIGA CASE enthusiasts,
First of all I like to thank all the people who supported me the last two months and not to forget, the official supporters of AMIGA CASE. Special thanks goes to Vesalia, Imagine3D, KCS, Amiga Inc. and Individual Computers.
AMIGA CASE has been, is discussed on several famous Amiga forums. This makes me very proud and gives me very important feedback and useful information. As a result it becomes clearer what to do better and how to prepare my next steps. I see the last period, running the campaign on Indiegogo, as a learning period, for me it doesn’t end here!
What does that mean? I go forward, make changes and come back. I have a license from Amiga Inc. and it encourages me to go forward with AMIGA CASE.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me!
Kind Regards,

Well, you have just been unlucky. Have you created your campaign before the other one, certainly much more people would have contributed. I hope you will be back with your case project if the Kickstarter one fails.

What's the next step, try resin casting instead of injection molding in order to lower the initial cost?

just to add a word of encouragement - timing was certainly an issue - the idea seems great and all the planning behind it too. Have you considered teaming up with the organizers of the other case? They may be able to offer advice on cheaper alternatives.

I like your case, but the market for it has surely hugely diminished with the other new A1200 case already successful.

Personally, i think an A600 or A500 case would be more appealing, but it might not be viable either. A500s in europe are dirt cheap and A600s are probably too few now. Perhaps not that many people will consider upgrading their case - not at these sorts of dollars. I think replacement cases for those units may have to be a lot cheaper to appeal. Will an A600 case fit the A1200 Reloaded?

Anyway, you had some great design concepts (i really liked the HDD and FDD bays and brass screw thingies) and i think that if you got to market first - you would surely have succeeded.

The new A1200 case guys (Phillippe) are also looking at other projects. There are things that people want still and you could look at what those things are. Amiga floppy drives? Whole keyboards? New integrated/easy power supplies? New joysticks based on old models (that aren't rubbish)? If you made a ZipStik / Comp Pro (an actual - not a cheapo ripoff) i would almost certainly buy one or two :)

I'm not saying there's a market for these things. Just thinking out loud :)

Good luck.

For those that contributed to this campaign, how is the refund attained? Is it automatic when the project closes, or is there an action that must be taken by each contributor?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your comments so far, much appreciated.

Right now I am investigating what my options / changes are when I add a keyboard / keycaps to the amiga case.

About the refunds : this is done by Indiegogo typically within 3-7 bus.days after the campaign ends.

Kind Regards,

Schuimpy / Jarno Smit

I think there is a market for keycaps (all models!) and keyboards, and A500 cases.

What would be really cool is if someone did A4000D faceplates as most of the ones I've seen are in really bad shape :(

Key caps, yes almost guaranteed.
But again, let's not do two separate campaigns. :-) It is well known that Phil plans that one too.
Personally, I don't care who does it, but a combined effort from Phil and Schiumpy would sure be of benefit for most? Because then we have no split that threatens the required funding and we have two dedicated chaps both wanting the same thing.
After all, there's not a whole lot of freedom in designing key caps. We pretty much know exactly what every key needs to look like.
Phil probably wants more color variations but other than that, I don't see any reasons to disagree ;-)

Very much a shame this particular case didn't go ahead this time round. I absolutely LOVE the wedge design (and the ITX / interchangeable rear plates) Unfortunately I have been really unwell and didn't get a a chance to pledge in time (just checked in again on the campaign now to realise I'd missed it)

All the best with your planning can't wait to see what comes of this! (perhaps there is definitely some positives that could come from collaborating or atleast communicating with the other case guys!)

Thanks for all your effort so far mate all the best!

It's a pity that this project is cancelled.
I find this design better than the other A1200 project.
Is there any chance that this A1200 Case Project will get a reboot?
Because I would Love to see it in the wild :)

All The Best,

Now with the keycaps being done it makes more sense- I missed out on the case and patiently waiting to see if amigastore or a1200 stores have any left after the lot is done- but my gut tells me they will sell out quickly :(

Glad to hear my project isn't forgotten :)

I cant say much right now, only thing I can say is that the project is not dead . At the moment I am redesigning/developing the AMIGA CASE. That takes time, especially prototyping. When time is right and when there is certainty I'll share the news.

Thanks Jarno,
Hope to hear about it very soon :D
