Declaring interest.

In the pal version I would be interested in possible 3 but definitely 2

what is the longest length you could do? Or are we restricted to 1M?

Hi there Tim
do you mean option PAL S-VIDEO or QT2 Excalibur PAL?

The problem is not the cable length but the cables available in the warehouse to be used :cool: (and envelope weight after...it means shipping price)
I check but I think I have a golden metallic Svideo version that I can use to make the 1.5mt S-video cable.. maybe little price difference compared to moulded type (this picture)

Please confirm that the option you are interested in is PAL S-VIDEO and quantity

P.S: I think I'll code the options to make the choice easier...soon

Regards

Oh sorry I veiw Amibay in dark mode and didn't notice the other options when quickly scanning through. @comraider is there away we can tackle this when someone uses a dark text?

It's the Svideo option

What's the difference between the PAL and NTSC cables? The reason I ask, is that I have several Amigas, all are PAL, but I now live in North America, and have an NTSC CRT TV. Just wondering which cable I should use.

PAL or NTSC?
We are talking about analog TV Standard
In U.S.A tv standard is NTSC (525lines/60Hz)
In Europe TV standard is PAL (625lines/50Hz)

So Excalibur PAL with PAL TV

Regards

How come we have to choose either ntsc or pal? No solution for both?

If I have a ntsc amiga but want to use pal software sometimes will a ntsc svideo cable just show black amd white?

In this case PAL/NTSC system requires more space and nothing else could be added inside.

However consider that you are not connecting a "simple Amiga SCART cable"...that is an active converter cable

In other words ..if you have to connect your Amiga to an NTSC monitor it must also be NTSC....you cannot connect it to a standard PAL monitor

Summary:
  • AMIGA PAL --> EXCALIBUR PAL --> MONITOR/TV PAL
  • AMIGA NTSC --> EXCALIBUR NTSC --> MONITOR/TV NTSC

In any case, your PAL Amigas must be connected to a standard PAL TV.
Even without this cable you have to use a TV/monitor with the same standard

Thanks axel81. I have 2 sony monitors which can display both ntsc and pal.

If there is any way you can build me 2 ntsc plus pal cables let me know :)

Very interested! Was just looking around for something like this :)

I would like a svideo pal cable, what do i do?

declaring interest in one NTSC version of the adapter and cables assembled fitting Amiga
