You can also download it on a Mac i suppose as the software is cross platform compatible i believe

ok got it, downloaded it, installed it.

Whats the best online guide to get the most of this software? Is it possible to download a rom package like WHLOAD and install it onto my virtual amiga so that I can play games on my PC using an xbox type controller?

Also I downloaded the optional Amikit workbench but chose a large resolution so I can only see half of the screen, i dont know how to change it back

The Amikit workbench is basically just a pretty os3.9 setup so if you go into the Amikit folder on the desktop and then prefs you can find the screenmode option and change it in there.

I'm no expert but i believe you can also download the WHDLoad packs and extract them into a folder somewhere on your pc and then start one of the predefined packages and press F12 to access the Winuae options and click hard drives and then add the folder where you extracted the WHDLoad games to. You will then need to reset the Amiga by clicking the reset box on the F12 options screen. Not sure if the USB xbox controller will work but you can try it.

Sorry scrappy, misspoke. Meant to say was that I don't have windows, I'm on a mac. I might see if I can find a junk peecee floating around somewhere, just to slap it on.
