Amiga Forever 2012

Thanks to Johnim I managed to get myself Amiga Forever 2012

Ive got everything installed, have myself a virtual A4000 with a 060 accelerator and 64mb ram with workbench 3.9

I want to install a WHLOAD package, with all the games, demos and utilities but as im a complete noob to this im hoping someone can point me in the right direction to a decent guide.

Id also like to install other stuff which I can find on the net, set the workbench up to my own taste and then transfer it to a CF card to use on my original Amiga hardware. (if thats possible)

Due to the recent download link im pretty sure everyone was all over it so hopefully this thread should be helpful for everyone.

hi mate you can run it the press f12 and add a folder where your games are and either transfere them or run from there after a reset

you can always make a new install of classic wb on a new config

ok so ive downloaded a whload package (or i think thats what it is) and ive unpacked it. But from there im completely lost.

No problem you should have a bunch of zip files now right? (One for each game)
You should unzip them in WinUAE not windows.
I usually do it like this, in CLI since it will be faster.
GO to the folder where you wan't the games, let's pretend its DH1:Games.
I create folders for each letter in the alphabet but it's not necessary. makedir A,B,C etc..
If we pretend the games are at DH2: and in a folder called WHDLoadGames (Which you must point to the shared directory on PEeCee in WinUAE settings like Johnim told you to doo) type:

UnZIP DH2:WHDLoadGames/A#? -d DH1:Games/A/
UnZIP DH2:WHDLoadGames/B#? -d DH1:Games/B/
UnZIP DH2:WHDLoadGames/C#? -d DH1:Games/C/
And so on...

I usually put all these lines (A-Z+0-9) in a amiga shell script and just Execute it

Of course if you don't care about the letters you can just unzip dh2:whdloadgames/#? -d dh1:games/ (note the / in the end it's important)

I think ive downloaded the wrong the whload file, ill have another look for the correct one and let you know you how I get on.

i downloaded WHDLoad_dev.lha and unpacked it, but theres no list of games.

If you are after games-packs you should download KillerGorillas packs whdload.de only hosts the program itself and installers for all the games if you have the originals.
I used to have all the games even up to date but i don't have ALL anymore cleared out duplicates, french, german games. But i can look into hosting them somewhere if you are interested it might take an hour or two to upload tho since it is around 4 Gb big

I noticed Killergorilla has games and demos, does any know where I can find utilitie / program packs?
