Hi Amigans, every guide explains how to get your CF formatted in FAT32 reading on Amigas (which I've done and it works).

Is it possible to format a CF card in Amiga format and get them partitions showing via the PCMCIA? On WinUAE I managed to format four 1.8GB partitions (8gb card) and formatted fine and showed up working on reboot but placing in Amiga PCMCIA it just shows up CF0: not initialised (or similar).

Any idea?

It is possible from what i've read but i've never tried it. You need to make your own mountlists for each partition and know some sector values and stuff like that. Fat95 does this automatically which makes it so much easier. Giggledisk might be of some use: http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/giggledisk.lha

I remember a sticky thread about it, think it might be over on EAB, tried myself a while back with compactflash.device and a Transcend adapter on my 1200 but couldn't get it to play ball with an 8GB card I bought.
Apparently the PCMCIA slot is a lot more fussy about the cards it likes vs an IDE adapter since the Amiga PCMCIA slots are based on draft specs of PCMCIA.
Might have another go when I get my 1200 set up again.
