Hi all. Just heard about the AmiGUS Zorro II Sound Card, but there's not much information about it. Has anyone used one yet?

The TOSlink port intrigues me - finally a way to record onto MiniDisc with no analogue gap! (I usually record by downmixing to disk image tbf)

It apparently runs under AHI, but is there any talk of getting it to work with OctaMED Soundstudio? It seems to be a brand new design - not a Prelude clone, so TheMaestrix or the fake tocatta.library trick wont work unless anyone knows better?

Thoughts welcome.

People are just receiving them. Living in the USA, my card is stuck at Alinea since they cannot figure out how to ship via UPS/Fedex, and have a contract with DHL (nat'l post). :(

I don't know about the older versions but octamed v8 what amiga kit made is compatable with any soundcard under AHI. But can't see it anywhere.

Alinea is out of stock now for a while so I decided to build one myself. PCB's and parts are on their way. I'll report back as soon as the card is ready and tested.

One card built and it's working great in an Amiga 2000 with N2630:

This is completely hand soldered. I did use a hotplate and hot air for the MAX 10, everything else is soldered with a microscope and fine soldering tip.

On a scale from 1 to 10 it's 7/10 for difficulty. Hand soldering 75 tiny capacitors can be time consuming job
:)

I might build more in early '26. I had a thread offering three cards but these are sold.
