Amstrad dd1 disc drive

hello im looking for some answers to my enquires, i have the dd1 set up to my 464 keyboard but when i turn then on the red light on the dd1 dont come on , does this mean i needs a new drive belt or what ever it needs. I can put the 464 on and the amstrad logo comes on the screen complete with the cursor. If i put the dd1 on with the 464 on theres no curser on the screen for me to type in Cat or Run.
And the dd1 has no red light on the mains light is on.

Anyone any ideas of the problem would be much appreciated also could someone look up on ebay and find the dd1 drive belt i need and the ebay item number, theres a few on there but the ad says for other amstrads but none for the 464.

I presume you have a FDD connected to the DDI so The drive light should come on no matter what. Have you checked the fuse in the plug. Until you sort this I would not worry about the belt. Like Dagger said. The LED should come on (but not fully) as soon as the drive is plugged in and switched on, regardless of what condition the belt is and even without the CPC attached.
If it is getting power and you've turned the switch at the back on and you still get no LED, then the PSU inside the drive has a problem.
