Hello my friends,

Please forgive me, sadly I have been off-line for the last couple weeks

Pics and update comming shortly

Hi Zetro,

Do you still have a working DD-1 unit for sale ?

Thanks...:interested:

Now updating this thread.

Sorry for the delay, but the last of the equipment for the Replay Event has now been put away and I can finally close / finish some projects and commitments!

First up - Pictures

Unit 1.

Please note that BOTH of these units provide +5v power down the Floppy IDC cable - This was by Amstrad's design to also power the FDD-1 upgrade for the CPC464.

Unit 2.

Please note the slight damage on the rear plastic next to the power cable and switch. While it doesn't effect operation - its a little ascetically unsightly - sadly this damage was due to a shift in storage - the internal FDD and mechanism have been fully tested and refurbished.

So you do not have to bump back to the first page here are some Prices

Unit 1. £15 + Postage

Unit 2. £10 + Postage

Within the UK postage will be courier and will cost approximately £6

Sadly I have unfortunately let this thread languish due to time / work constraints but I will obviously honour the first in line protocol that AmiBay has - Order of interest -

1 . tokyoracer
2 . steviec36
3 . axelf65
4 . duncan_bayne
5 . Sourcery

Hope that all helps.

@Zetro,

Hi there,

I am assuming this could be stripped down and used in my Tatung Einstein?

Interested if that is the case and if available...

@bagpuss22 - I'd double check with TC. I know he was saying there are differences between the (cheap) CPC drive and Tatung one.

I've got a few CPC and Tatung drives lying around I'm salvaging for parts. The biggest difference between the two is the Tatung drives have a 'standard' PC-style 34-pin floppy edge connector on them, where the CPC drives have a 26 "pin" style connector on them.

I'm guessing with the right adapter cable/wiring the CPC drives should work in a Tatung.

I actually got the Tatung drive so I could easily plug one directly into a PC motherboard and write CPC disks without rewiring a 26-to-34 pin cable.
