OK, so I took a calculated risk buying a small VGA screen at Aliexpress from China. Normally I wouldn't but I wanted this particular model and couldn't find it elsewhere.
Well it didn't pay off. First, customs snatched the parcel, so the cost just jumped from $75 to $120. Dang.
Then the real 'fun' started. The VGA and component can only be used on this screen with a proprietary dongle. The seller asks what accessories I need, so I tell him to send the dongles too, and did he do that? No, he just shipped it with a PSU and remote. Awesome. :double
Now it's 2 months and 30 emails/messages later, the seller agrees to send the dongles for $5. I want to rip his head off for wasting my time for a $5 accessory. But since I can't get the dongles elsewhere I had to put up with the s**tstorm. Was very hard not to scream at him.:banghead:
The log is a mix of PMs and email, of which I have sewn together in chronological order. I have removed email addresses and personal info from the communication.

I can buy batteries in any corner shop. But I cannot use your product without a VGA dongle. This connector is a non-standard connector so I can't use a key functionality of your product because I'm unable source this dongle. Furthermore I have clearly stated when asked (before shipping) that I needed this dongle, as you can see from the previous screenshot. I was even willing to pay extra for that dongle. Instead you have not replied just shipped the screen without it. So why is this a big problem? Just please send a dongle and be done with it.

No, I only want a refund if I can't get the special VGA adapter as in that case I'm unable to use an important feature of your product. The fact remains:
- You have asked if I need extra accessories with the screen
- I have replied that I need the special VGA cable (I was even willing to pay for it)
- You have ignored my request and sent an incomplete product - without an essential accessory that prohibits me to use an important feature of the product (VGA connectivity)
- I have opened a dispute to ensure that I get this accessory OR get a refund
- Instead of trying to solve the problem you are behaving aggressive and accusative
- I offer you again to pay for the missing special VGA cable
- You are behaving aggressive and accusative again

At this point, the escalated complaint at Aliexpress has been substantiated, and they are offering a refund, which is not very good, as I'll be still down $45 customs cost, and the return shipping.. Notice how the communication changes.
But still, the seller sends me a shop link to order a random electronics part for $29 from him, of which he would change later to charge me for the $5 cable. That didn't fly.
