Hi, I am a Memotech enthusiast, who has recently been pointed at this board.

I may be interested in the odd Memotech item (especially if rare or unusual), and I may be able to offer advice or assistance to others with Memotech kit.

If you're interested in Memotech stuff, you should at least be aware of these URLs :-

There is lots of good stuff there, including emulators, hardware recreations, modern day hardware add-ons, utilities, games, tape images, tape inlays, magazine scans, manual scans, user group publication scans, ROM listings, folks who are actively porting games to the platform, folks who are actively restoring and rebuilding older kit etc..

Welcome to Amibay

Thanks for the links - the Memotech was one of the machines that I always (and still do) wanted. In the mean time I can always dream (and drool) while looking through some of these sites.

Hi Andy

Glad you made it friend...

I hope you enjoy the site and if you ever need any help pls dont hesitate to contact me or any of the staff directly, they are a great friendly bunch, as are our members too.

I hope the Memotech MTX will get some great exposure on here..

I have upgraded your account to Amibayer so you can access the recycle bin too.

For those that don't know, Andy's contributions to the Memotech MTX's history is stuff of legend with some amazing modern enhancement projects both hardware and software too.

Kind Regards
B ;)

Hello AndyKey

Welcome to AmiBay!

Personally I'd love a Memotech 512.... with the FDX addon... So I too could build my own Kelly LeBrok

And that would be one of my big things to do .... off my pocket-book list.......

really..... only me watched that movie...... really..... ;)

Was that the film Weird Science?

Hello and welcome!

Memotechs are really nice computers. Sadly, they were too short lived. The closes thing to a Memotech I've ever seen is the user manual at a yard sale. Shame I didn't buy it anyway even though there was no computer. I'd really like to find one someday.

In response to the posts above...

To make Kelly Le Brock, you'll also need a copy of Playboy, a bra on your head, and rather bad weather.
Although I might have had some success recreating vintage computing hardware recently, I am sure my wife would not approve if I tried to recreate Kelly.

Memotech MTXs are seen for sale once every couple of months or so on another well known "bay" site.
Prices seem to be getting higher and higher.
