Hello,

As per the subject. I have now properly installed AmigaOS 4.1FE on my CyberPPC 060/PPC setup.

Currently using an ACILL A4KD motherboard with Rev B recapped Daughterboard with the following setup:

Phase 5 Cybervision 64/3D
X-Surf 100 Z3
FastATA MK V Z3 IDE to SD
Individual Computers Big-RAM Plus 256MB

I currently have a SCSI2SD, SCSI multicard reader on the CYBPPC SCSI. Although I have AmigaOS 3.2.3 with AmigaOS 4.1 FE on a IDE SD adapter which will see the Multi-card.

So, my plan was to look at adding another SCSI card. But, as I have found out with owning both a FastLane Z3 rev 2.4 and a Re-Created A4091. Amiga OS 4.1FE will fail to boot? Works fine on AmigaOS 3.2.3.

Yes the CSPPC SCSI functions and have read that Hyperion use there own cybpppc.device and ignores the inbuilt CYBPPC.device on ROM as well as any PROM settings via the ‘ESC’ early menu.

So apart from a FastATA MK VI and VII which are AOS 4.1 certified to work. A majority of Z3 RTG cards and most NICs.

What else (Especially SCSI Zorro cards) work on Amiga OS 4.1 FE Classic?

Cheers 🍻

Okay. Been doing some more research on the interweb.

Found this link

Looks like Z3 FastLane is a no go. Same it appears for the A4091 :rolleyes:

All fun and games…..

I ran 4.1 on classic hardware and it really was slow and very underwhelming.

Trust me your not missing much...

If you want to try Amiga ppc, I would get a Mac and run MorphOS. No comparison these days if you want to do something with it. MorphOS has the best apps and OS. 3.20 beta was recently demoed at World of Commodore on a Mirari to a packed room and it looked soo sweet and ran so well. Thats my 2 cents, as I have long struggled to do productive things well on any flavor of Amiga. Now you can...

Good to know. I’m using a slightly overclocked CybPPC and using it this way isn’t too bad.

Have seen the Dr Chris videos on that subject. Tempted, but need to find the room for another system.

Glad it runs respectable for you!

Chris had a booth with his Piamiga and the single processor pcie powermac at world of commodore.

Chris will be the first to admit the benefits of MorphOS, since he paid to have Piamiga created, his endorsement goes a long way.

Many at Jaceks presentation had no any idea what MorphOS could do, especially on a G4 performance level system. Some even wanted to use it for a daily driver and do work on it.

You would not be disappointed if you make the room, I ran the options side by side a few years ago, and even then the differences we very apparent. Wayfarer, Iris, PolyOrga, and many other applications are very mature now and can do things that just can't be done elsewhere. All those written from scratch. Even cell basics, also written from scratch and in alpha stage but updated many times, already does so much and I use it daily now.

3.20 in beta is a major release with many improvements including multiple display enhancements.

The fun with MorpOS is that it has been actively developed and supported by a great team consistently for years. They are a great bunch and many of my suggestions has made it to the apps and os.

Happy new year.

Thanks for the input.

I am currently a Subscriber to Dr Chris over on YT.

I get what you are saying. But as I already own a hardware capable Amiga plus bought the OS4.1FE classic.
Just want to get the best out of the setup I have.
Currently on Update 3. So happy enough to play around with it.

Cheers 🍻
