anybody get their new Tank Mouse?

I got one from Sordan recently. The scrolling is horrible (barely works, sensitivity all over the place, ignores input at random moments etc). Batteries are drained very quickly as there's no power save mode, the non-bluetooth receiver generates a lot of EMI and was interfering with my Amiga operation. Build quality is bad, flimsy plasticky cheap chinese crap feel to it. I'm comfortable in saying that it is absolute garbage and not worth the money.

Funnily enough my scrolling is not working either. Early adopter. Been told to open up and check the connector for it? Oh well. Been sat in it’s box since.
 
I was thinking of buying one of the wireless tank mice. 🤔
 
At CLASS 2025 last weekend I finally saw one in person. They do feel super cheap/plastic-ee. Someone there also said they were not reliable. Regardless, I'm still out hundreds of dollars. :( I will never trust anything Lukas Remis represents. My issues are not unique, on Kickstarter many people have similar complaints -
 
I have two - a black mouse and white mouse. Here are my thoughts:

- They both suffer from the worst battery life of any device I've ever used. Even when turned OFF they drain.
- They both feel cheap compared to original mice.
- They are EXTREMELY overpriced for what they are.
- The center scroll does f*ck all after a bit of use. Checked the connections, still an issue.
- The black version has that awful rubber coating which will likely deteriorate over time.
- They both have an issue when used with an original Amiga - if you move the pointer quickly with a sudden stop, the pointer will continue to move. Never had this issue before when using other mice/dongles with the Amiga. Sordan never responded to my messages asking for a fix.

Avoid, unless of course you enjoy the feeling of tearing your hair out.
 
My issues are clear design flaws, I don't think there's anything to be fixed here with firmware. Oh well, lesson learned (also re: all the usual idiots on youtube that shilled this without mentioning even a single negative).
 
Very glad I decided to check this thread as I was very close to getting one, but will definitely be steering clear after this. That kind of performance would be unacceptable for a $20 mouse, never mind the absolutely wild prices they're asking for these with the adapter.
 
I have one of the wireless versions from Sordan. Don't bother with the included wireless adapter, use one of Samp's HID2AMI instead - the included adapter is terrible.

I don't use scrolling (AmigaOS never had it back in the day, so I don't use it now) but as a mouse it's fine. Battery lasts for months and sleeps/wakes when needed.
 
I bought three at the start and everyone of them had the dongle die within a few months. I bought replacement dongles from Amigastore and they have been great ever since.

To get the best from it you do need to install the Tankmouse drivers and Freewheel from Aminet, which it does not tell you.

I have to say I have not noticed unusual battery drain and I use them for a few hours every week. (one in a 2000, one in a 1200 and one in a 500)

Did you install the drivers for Amiga use ? I will say I tried it on a raspberry pi with amiberry last week and it was terrible

Yes. Even tested on Windows 10 and what beserk (Both using adapter and Bluetooth)with the scrolling to make the mouse unusable . All I will say this was bought on the launch day with Sordan. So can only image these issues have possibly been fixed? But the price (Which will not be discussed) is ridiculous for what you get.
 
I used all proper drivers and it's still a pretty awful experience no matter the platform. I have several different dongles for the Amiga now (mouSTer being the best) and there's just no getting around that shoddy tank mouse. I purchased my units well after launch day, so I'm not sure they did much to improve the functionality since.

Thinking about it, it might be possible to upgrade the internals with a different sensor. I guess at that point though you're just adding cost to an already expensive mouse.
 
My original joy-port to usb adpaters, are dead now so I use this on the amiga which works fine, Tikus , but I've given up using them anywhere else which is a real shame, as it looks lovely with the Checkmate case and monitor with the PI 4 as a amiberry amiga
