I'm in need for some replacement parts for my MacBook Pro and iPad, and I came accross this site: www.ifixit.com. Just wanted to ask if anybody from here had a deal with them in the past and can share their experience, unless you know a better store for Apple parts.

ifixit is the go to place for those hard to get tools that apple keep making custom heads etc.

they support right to repair not only apple but things like cars or farm tractors that require customer software and expensive parts that a "normal" mechanic could do if access to the software was allowed.

these closed companies need a good kick.

they latest apple trick is EVERYTHING inside an Iphone for example has firmware and serial numbers so even if you swap a bad screen for a good screen from another apple phone it will complain its not an original part and at worst disable itself.

apple are also bullying companies who make off the shelf IC's to stop selling them to repair shops or us and ONLY sell to apple so repair of the device is impossible

apple want you to NOT repair your device but to simply throw your $1000 device that prob need about $15 spend to repair it into landfill and buy a new one.

pfft!

I have never bought replacement parts from them, but I can highly recommend their toolkits.
I use mine almost daily. They are great quality and extremely useful. I've never found a screw I couldn't remove with this kit.
