Its an old thread I know, but make that 2 brummies now (well - Walsall anyway) ;)

I think we have a few 'Yam yam', a couple of 'Yo yos' and one or two 'boing boings' on here....

Yam Yam = Wolverhampton
Yo Yo = Dudley
Boing Boing = West Bromwich

I used to work out who was from where in Birmingham, by asking them what that famous large toy supermarket chain was called.

Depending on the answers "Toys Urruz", "Toys Am Us" or "Toys Am We", I could tell where they were from in the Black Country area.....

Sometimes, it didn't sound like English at all; for example:-

"Yam gooin' hum on the buzz?" "Ar!"
(Translation: "Will you be travelling home on the bus?" "Indeed!")

i might pop down, whats the opening and closing hours?

do you have to bring a system yourself?

more importantly do we have access to the bar,its in the hare and hounds isent it?

no accent here in afraid, i am a brummie but half irish on my mothers side no accent at all there.

I'm a Villa fan as my Dad's side of the family are from the midlands (Sutton Coldfield) although I am a Scouser by birth :)

Would that be a piratey "Ar" like "Arrrr!" or a silent one sounding more like "Aye!"?

I might pop along and take a look, I live in Stourbridge so not too far, and I work in Birmingham City Centre and cover the all of the Midlands area for my job, including Kings Heath, Mosely, Bournville etc...

Also pretty nifty at Kick Off 2 too... especially Final Whistle ;)
