Here's my latest addition to my collection, an Apple IIGS.

I've been wanting a IIGS for some time. I think the IIGS, along with original Macintosh, is the coolest case design Apple has come up with. It is also the most advanced model in the II series. Still I find it curious why Apple chose not to incorporate a floppy drive into the case.
Externally it is in okayish shape. It is yellowed and needed some cleaning. Otherwise it's in fine shape. The motherboard looks like new.

The PSU accepts only 110V so I had to buy a stepdown converter. It was only two-prong and the lead is three-prong so I have to use an euro lead through a two-prong travel adapter.
There are no expansion cards or mass storages so I'm not really able to use it. I have a suitable keyboard and mouse though. The CFFA3000 seems to be the definitive mass storage but there is no batch planned until next year. I'm planning to buy an Unisdisk floppy emulator. It can emulate quite big images so it's almost like a hard disk. That should get me by until there's a new batch of CFFA3000 ready. Unless, of course, someone from the AmiBay community comes up with something -cough- Zetr0 -cough-.
I should be able to get some kind of picture via composite but I have to start looking for an RGB cable.
