I've noticed some games look fine and some look off on my 4 switch Atari 2600 woody.

Pacman looks fine, so does Pitfall but on E.T the colors are off, such as the green grass is blue.

I've messed around with the colour wheel thingy but still could not find the right setting :picard

Is this because the E.T cart came from the USA and my console is PAL ? Or is the console slightly shagged after 30 years or so ?

Yes it is because it is an NTSC cart and the colour palette is different. I can gaurentee that if you get a PAL cart of the game it will be fine.

Ok, at least my 2600 is still fully functional then. The different colour palette on the couple of NTSC games I guess I own won't be bothering me too much as everything else is fine.

So am I correct in assuming that the "P" on some/most games I own means PAL ? The "P" is on most of the carts I own, on the top where it says the name of the game sort of like "Pitfall P"

Yes, the "P" stands for PAL.
If I remember correctly, only Atari used this marking. My PAL Activision carts (like Pitfall) say "International version" on them.

Yep my pitfall cart says that too
